Sujata deserved to be comM(ahad)e(va)nded

Javed Akhtar, who penned Tumhe Aaj Maine Jo Dekha, the duet from Kuch Naa Kaho, is also credited with recommending its female singer, Ms Bhattacharya [whose S(uja)tage name is Madhushree].

Although it wasn’t one of the best compositions by Shankar Mahadevan (who also sang it), Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, she didn’t let the veteran lyricist down.

The next two lines of the track – “Chamka hai kismat ka taara, badli naseeb ki rekha” – couldn’t have been more apt, as they meant the star of luck has shone and the line of fate has changed, respectively.
