Don (2006), was a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer of the
same name, which released in 1978.
Since the former’s
tagline was The Chase Begins Again,
let’s cut to it. Aaj Ki Raat, the
longest track in the film, was six minutes and eight seconds long.
Such was the
aplomb with which Alisha Chinai and Iyer rendered it that Sonu Nigam, who
shared the (Mahalaksh)microphone with them, was overshadowed.
It was penned by
Javed Akhtar and earned Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa a
Filmfare nomination in the Best Music Director category in 2007.
