The fact that
Kailash is one of the best exponents of Sufi music in the Hindi film industry
gained K(he)redence when he rendered Ya
Rabba from Salaam-E-Ishq: A Tribute
To Love.
The track, which
was penned by Sameer, was six minutes and 56 seconds long.
Undoubtedly one
of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa’s best compositions, it
was evocative from the word go.
That was
evidenced by the opening line – “Pyaar hai
ya saza, aye mere dil bata” (which could be translated to, “Is it love or a
punishment? Oh my heart, tell me.”)
