It was (Mahadev)another Shankar solo

The best thing one can say to someone who is about to embark on a mission is, “Vijayi Bhava” (which can be translated to, “May you emerge triumphant”).

It also happened to be the title of the longer of the two tracks from Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi on this blog – it was four minutes and 23 seconds long.

It was rendered by Shankar Mahadevan, who sang another solo in the film*.

Prasoon Joshi penned the track, which was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

[*Note: It was titled Shiv Tandav (a divine dance performed by Lord Shiva).]

It needed Ma(hadeva)ny a listen

The soundtrack of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi – which released in 2019 and was based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi – was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

This blog contains posts on a couple of tracks from the film.

Bharat, the shorter of these, was just four minutes long.

It was rendered by the one and only Shankar Mahadevan.

Prasoon Joshi, who penned it, narrated the other version of the track, which was four seconds shorter than the original.

It was a track that would probably take its time to grow on the listeners.

Dosanjh sang this catchy Di(lji)tty

There’s no two ways about the fact that Ishq Di Baajiyaan – the only song from Soorma (2018) on this blog – was a catchy number.

If it were to described using another word, it would be soothing.

(Dilj)It was rendered by the one and only Mr Dosanjh, who essayed the part of hockey player Sandeep Singh (on whom the film was based).

The romantic track was four minutes and 47 seconds long.

It was penned by Gulzar and composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Seldom has the quartet let the listeners down, and this was yet another fruitful collaboration.
