There’s no doubt
that Rock On!! was a male-Domin(ique)ated
soundtrack, but those who were reeling under an (Akht)a(u)ral overdose needn’t
have complained, because Ms Cerejo’s rendition of Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein was outstanding.
Penned by Javed
Akhtar, the track, which was composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and
Loy Mendonsa, was five minutes and 29 seconds long.
In fact, its
second line – “Yeh hamari mulaqaatein
hamesha yun hi chalti rahein” (which can be translated to, “Our meetings
should continue”) – is precisely what one is likely to tell an old buddy when
they meet after ages.
