It wouldn’t be
wrong to call Bol Na Halke Halke,
from Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007), one
of the best compositions by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa.
The track, which
was penned by Gulzar, was four minutes and 54 seconds long.
There’s no doubt
that it was because of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan (who is renowned for the control he
has over his breath) that lovers of Hindi film music, who were yearning to
listen to a unique voice, could breathe a sigh of Rahat.
He was joined behind
the (Mahalaksh)microphone by Ms Iyer.
