Jhoom Barabar Jhoom can truly be called the best of the three
versions of the film’s title track. And at seven minutes and four seconds, it
also happened to be longest.
When one listens
to turns of phrase as interesting as, “Aaja
chandni kootenge, aasmaan ko lootenge” (which can be translated to, “Come,
let’s batter the moonlight, let’s plunder the sky”), he or she will instantly
know it was penned by Gulzar.
Mahadevan – who
composed it with Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa – Sha(nka)red Sing(h)ing
credits with an equally awesome trio – KK, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Sukhwinder.
