Mr Nigam bagged the
National Film Award for Best Male Player Singer for the title track of Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003 and the
International Indian Film Academy Award and the Filmfare Award in the same
category the following year.
Shankar
Mahadevan, Noorani (Ehsa)and Loy Mendonsa composed both versions of the song.
The happy
version, which is on this blog, was a So(nu)lo. It was five minutes and 27
seconds long.
It was penned by
Javed Akhtar, who bagged the International Indian Film Academy Award and the
Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist in 2004.
