Even the most
ardent Hindi film aficionado wouldn’t have given an Arm(a)and a leg for Honey Irani’s directorial debut, which released
in 2003.
But one of its
songs – Mere Dil Ka Tumse – became quite
popular. In fact, it wouldn’t be incorrect to call it the highlight of the film.
Javed Akhtar
penned the track, which was composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and
Loy Mendonsa and picturised on Ms Zinta.
K S Chithra, who
is prolific in South India, rendered it. It’s indeed a P(re)ity that she is
infrequently heard by Hindi film music buffs.
